VASC Masthead

The Victoria Alpine Ski Club, a registered non-profit society since 1984, is governed by a board of directors. The club is supported through annual membership dues of $50.00. The dues help fund club management and operational activities (e.g. bookkeeping services, website and social media maintenance, office supplies, annual reports).

The $50.00 annual membership fee is non-refundable, and we do not offer prorated fees for joining partway through the year. Members need to be at least 19 years of age.

1. I hereby certify that I am nineteen years of age or older. I agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the Victoria Alpine Ski Club Society (VASC) and to participate in all activities sponsored by the Society in accordance with its rules, regulations and bylaws.

2. In consideration of VASC’s acceptance of me as a registered member of the Society, and my being permitted to take part in the Society’s activities, I acknowledge there may be risk associated with such participation including the risk of exposure to a communicable disease.
Hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, I agree to forever release, discharge and hold harmless the Victoria Alpine Ski Club Society, its directors, officers, representative employees, contractors and agents (all of whom are hereinafter collectively referred to as “ The Releasees”) for any injury, loss or damage to my person or property howsoever caused, and notwithstanding that the same may be contributed to or occasioned by the negligence of the Releasees.

3. This will include, but is not limited to, pictures and video taken of me at various VASC events, with or without my knowledge, and posted on the VASC website or printed in the VASC newsletter.

4. I certify that I am entering into this agreement on my own behalf and not on behalf of another individual, family member or guest.

5. This agreement shall be effective and binding upon me so that in the event of death, injury, illness or incapacity arising from my participation in VASC activities, however caused, will also be effective and binding upon my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, assigns and representatives.

6. By signing, I certify that I have read and understand this agreement and I am waiving certain legal rights, including the right to sue.
